Bath Time

The other day I realized that it has been forever since I took bath pictures. I am sure Jacoby will really appreciate them some day :) He still loves the bath and spends a good 20-30 minutes in there playing every time. He gets so excited when you ask him if he wants to take a bath. He jumps up and runs in to the bathroom and starts trying to take his clothes off.
He still gets in and lays down on his sponge while he hurry and wash his hair and then it's play time. We are just going to keep on doing this until he won't do it any more because it is so much easier to wash his hair while he lies down even if he hangs clear off his sponge.

He loves his ducks and makes them quack and swim. He also has a bus toy that he loves! We still go to swim classes every week and he is doing really well! He loves to blow bubbles, kick (or kix as Jacoby says) and his favorite part of class is jumping in the pool. He least favorite part is putting his face in the water but I can't say I blame him.

Our handsome, handsome boy!!!

Love, love, love these big blue eyes!

I really don't think he could be any cuter! He is so much fun and growing and changing every day. I love that he still loves the water and I hope that he always will.

Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year, even though it felt a little odd not going to church since we had General Conference on Easter this year. Jacoby was not so sure about what was going on when he woke up in the morning. Jarod and I were giddy about the Easter Bunny coming the night before.
He left Jacoby a basket full of fun things!!

He was so excited! He got eggs or as he likes to call them balls, books and bubbles.

Once he emptied out his basket he thought he needed to wear it around his neck. It was his fashion statement of the day.

He loved his new books that we got him. He LOVES books! Sometimes I feel that is all I do everyday. Most days we go through every book in our house at least once. I am so glad that he loves to read as much as he does but I have to be honest and say there are days that I am really tired of reading "Brown Bear, brown bear" for the tenth time!

Such a happy, happy boy!! (I had just said woo hoo to get his attention and he was ready to give me a high five! Every time we say woo hoo he runs to where ever we are and wants to give us a high five)
Then Jacoby and Daddy made banana chocolate chip pancakes like they do every weekend but on Easter Jacoby thought he needed to eat on the big chair.

He could barely see over it! He was carrying on a conversation with his Daddy and eating his breakfast like a big boy.

But don't let that fool you... he is still his Mama's baby and still very much attached to me.
Later on in the day we took Jacoby to the park to have a little Easter egg hunt. I ran ahead and hid some eggs and when he got there we asked him where they were and this is how he walked around looking for them.

But then he saw one in the grass and caught on very quickly and loved the new game!

He kept on trying to carry all of his eggs at once until he figured out that you put them in the basket after you find them.

I know this picture is a little blurry but I love it! This is his new scrunched up nose smile. He does it when he is squinting from the sun and it makes me laugh every time!

After our egg hunt it was on to bubbles or buuuub-les as Jacoby calls them! He was so excited and was having a blast chasing them. This is his ready stance and as soon as he saw one he was running as fast as he could to get it and then as soon as it was gone he would go back like this.

Then he decided he wanted to blow the bubbles. He did pretty good!

It was a beautiful Easter with my boys!!

16 Months Old!

I decided that I was going to strip Jacoby down and take some shots in his diaper because I hadn't done it in a while and after this session I remembered why.
He looks so cute sitting there so nicely!
Then I handed him a few books to keep him still for a little while longer while I tried to get some more shots.

This is my favorite one I got and I should have quit while I was ahead!

He soon decided that he wanted different books.

After he figured out which books he wanted to read, he did a circus stunt fly by to show his Daddy who was in the other room.

After some persuading he came back and wanted back up on his chair.

He was so cute sitting there reading his books and making all of his animal noises but I couldn't get him to look at me for the life of me until I turned on the crazy flash.

It got his attention so fast that he was off the chair and grabbing for the camera faster than I could get up and move away so he couldn't get his hands on the thing.

He was not happy when I stood up and wouldn't let him touch the camera.

The pouty face wasn't working so he started telling me all the reasons he should be able to touch the camera.

I still wouldn't let him so he got frustrated

and ran to go and tell his Daddy that his Mama was not being nice. He brought Jarod back in the room with him and saved his over the top tantrum for both of us.

Tears and all because I am so mean and won't let him play with my camera.

Luckily for us he is still easily distracted and as soon as I asked him if he wanted to get his clothes on and go bye-bye this is the response I got!
Little stinker! Man, is he opinionated and getting more and more everyday!

First Official Hair Cut

Jacoby was not sure what to think of Snippets from the moment we walked in there. There was kids running every where, TV blaring and tons and tons of toys. Usually his thing but I think he knew something was up because I kept taking pictures.
We let him pick out what car he wanted to drive while he had his hair cut. He was really excited until...

The lady walked over and started spraying his hair with water and then he really didn't like it when she put the cape over him so he couldn't reach the steering wheel. He didn't cry just kept looking at us with this pathetic face. We were having a really hard time not laughing.

He sat there very still for most of the time still wondering what the heck this lady was doing to him but as she got closer to his face he starting calling out for his Mama.

I gave Jarod the camera and went next to him. I had to hold onto him because he was trying to crawl out into my arms but pretty soon he figured out that he couldn't get out so he got as close as possible while still sitting in the car including laying his head on my shoulder while she was trying to cut his hair.
This picture captures the event perfectly. Getting as close as possible to mama but still giving dad those pitiful eyes.

To say the least he was very glad when it was all over! I was nervous about getting his hair cut but it is so cute!! He looks so much older now but I am just glad that we still have the curls!

New Blog

So I have started a new blog about my new journey to be more self sustaining. If you are interested you can check it out here.

alittlegreenermama.blogspot.com

I am not going to make this one private so I don't think that I am going to use very many pictures of Jacoby or his name all that ofter to make me more comfortable with staying public. I am hoping to have lots of good tips but right now I am just getting my feet wet- VERY slowly!

Spring Skiing

We were really excited to head to Denver this year on Jarod's spring break to get some spring skiing in and just get away for a little while.
Jarod was determined that this time we were going to buy our own skis. I kept telling him that I thought it was a waste of money since we don't go very often and it really isn't that big of deal to rent but like I said he was determined. So the morning after we got to Denver (after the airline lost our car seat for the third time) we went and bought skis, boots and poles.
Jacoby was so excited to spend some time with Bentley and quickly picked up that he could tell Bentley to sit and Bentley would sit. It was so funny! Jacoby loves Bentley and the dog puts up with Jacoby.
Jacoby was also excited to see all of his toys at Grandma and Grandpa J's house. He remembered that they was a toy room upstairs and balls in the basement as soon as we got there. He had a blast playing with all of his toys.
Friday night Jarod and I took advantage of having babysitters and went out for a nice date. We had the best time! I sure do miss the leisurely dinners with my husband.
Saturday afternoon, after swimming we headed up to the mountains to stay at the cabin.
Jacoby was so excited to see the pool table! His favorite place and to just run free!

He was so funny on the pool table, he would stick out his tongue when he would concentrate like his Daddy does. He had me laughing!

He isn't allowed to stand on the table and he did very good crawling around. I loved to see the old crawl- I miss that little leg kick!

He spends hours on the pool table and loves every minute of it! Doesn't take much to entertain this little guy!

Jacoby had to wear his Colorado sweat suit in Colorado! I love it on him!
He is also a little obsessed with shoes. He likes to walk around with our shoes on and then brings them to you and wants you to take them on and off.

Sunday we headed to Winter Park to 9 inches of fresh powder, 32 degrees and a beautiful sunny day with not a cloud in the sky! It was perfect!
I tell you what thought, you already have enough luggage when you ski let alone when you add in a baby! I have quite the load here!

Jacoby stayed in the lodge with Grandma J while we went out and hit the slopes. He actually even fell asleep for her in the Ergo (oh how I love that thing!!!)! This was huge for us!! He usually needs his mama for naps. I don't think it is really me but more my hair! But he fell asleep with all of the people in the lodge with no mommy and no binky. He must have been exhausted!

Like I said before, he's a little obsessed with shoes and he wanted to try my ski boots on. It was so funny!! He was trying to walk in them but they were a tad heavy.

Then he decided that he would just sit on them. They made a great little chair for him.

The skiing crew on the top of Winter Park! The views were incredible! It seriously was the best day of skiing I have ever had. Great snow, great weather and great equipment! When we went in for lunch I told Jarod that I took back everything that I had said negatively about buying skis. I love my skis and boots! He just laughed and asked if I could say it one more time a little louder that he was right- ugh I hate when he is right!

I had the best time skiing with Jarod and it was fun just to be the two of us for a little while. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband! But after lunch, I had a really hard time leaving Jacoby again so I only lasted for a few more runs and then I bowed out and went and got my little baby that I was missing so much! I took him sledding and we played at the outdoor park. We had the best time! Jarod, Collin and Jim had a blast too because they weren't waiting for slow poke me!
We had the best time and I am looking forward to using my new gear next year... and who knows Jarod is trying to talk me into putting Jacoby on skis next year.
