Roll Over, roll over...

Jacoby is rolling over like crazy! The other day I just wanted ONE picture of him on his belly...

but every time I put him on his tummy he would roll over so fast I couldn't catch it with the camera.

Here is me trying to hold him in place with my foot- that didn't work either!

So most of the pictures that I ended up with looked like this. Great action shots though!!

This is as good as it gets...

before I get the "Mommy, please stop!" look!!

He loves to play our little roll over game where I put him in the middle of the blanket and he rolls over one way and back and then the other way and back. He is so funny though because every time he rolls over he looks at us and waits for us to clap and then he breaks out in to a huge smile! It is so funny!!

Jacoby found his Toes!

A few weeks ago, Jacoby discovered his toes and now he is obsessed!! He loves to hold on to them and rock back and forth and help you change his diaper (I guess I should say he thinks he is helping!) and even get them in his mouth and suck on his big toe!!

He's not a fan of restrictive pants now because he can't get to his toes so he just lays there and then as soon as you take him off he gets really excited and starts going for his toes again.

My mom made Jacoby a really cute pair of shoes and the other day I put them on him for the first time to go to the park. He watched me while I put them on and just kept staring at them. He proceeded to stare at them the entire time I was walking around my house with him getting ready and even when I stood him up on his legs he was still mesmerized and wouldn't stand up straight. By the time I got him in his jogger he was drooling and couldn't wait to get them in his mouth and as soon as we got to the park and laid out a blanket, he was in heaven with the shoes in his mouth!! It was so funny!!!

My First Mother's Day!!

My first Mother's Day was such a wonderful day!! Jarod got up early with Jacoby and let me sleep in which was awesome!! Then when I woke up he had made banana pancakes for breakfast and had Jacoby all dressed for church and the house clean. Wow! What a guy!! We went to church and came home and went for a long walk through the park and around our neighborhood (which is when the picture above was taken). Then we came home and Jarod broke out the grill for the first time this year and grilled up some steak with all the fixins for my Mother's Day dinner. It was a great day!!

I am so lucky to be Jacoby's Mommy! It is the hardest job I have ever had but also the most rewarding. I have had numerous calls from recruiters trying to get me to come back to work and the other day I was asked by some one to send him an email about what my dream job would be. I thought about it for a long time and realized that I am doing my dream job!! Even though we have some hard days and sometimes I go a little crazy, I am so happy to be Jacoby's Mommy!!

5 Months Old!!

Jacoby turned 5 months old on May 3. I cannot believe it!! I am a little late getting these posted because to celebrate our big 5 months, we got an ear infection! My poor baby was miserable. It started out as a cold and it just kept getting worse. I called the doctor three days in a row and she kept telling me not to bring him in because we were at the height of the swine flu outbreak so I didn't. On the third day, I knew something was really wrong. He was refusing to nurse on one side and I had held him for 3 straight days. I was exhausted and he was miserable so I loaded him up and took him to the doctor. Sure enough he had a bad ear infection in his left ear. Poor baby!! He took his medication like a champ though and is all better. Thank goodness!!
Here is a few things that Jacoby is doing at 5 months that I haven't posted about.
1. At 5 months, he decided he was done being swaddled and is sleeping in his sleep sack now. Good thing! All of his blankets were getting too small and I was worried about how I was going to break him of that.
2. Rolling over every where
3. Scoots all over the room on his back and pushed off the furniture with his legs to get him where he wants to go.
4. Loves to be outside!!!
5. Enjoys watching older kids play at the park or the dogs
6. Coughs to get your attention
7. Does this new gasping thing when he is excited
8. Is very vain and smiles and laughs at himself every time he sees himself in the mirror
9. Still my short napper but does great at night
10. He has so much personality!! If you can't tell from the pics.
11. Likes to suck on his index finger
12. Dives down when he is hungry to nurse or pulls my shirt down. Wasn't expecting him to know where it was at this age.
13. Loves to pull, play and twist my hair when he is tired.
14. Weighed 14 lb. 14 oz. when I took him to the doctor for an ear infection.
15. Still wearing 3-6 months clothes and size 2 diapers
16. Is sitting up all by himself for long periods of time. Doesn't haven't mastered yet but so close!
17. Is so excited when his Daddy gets home and wants him to hold him immediately
18. Loves, loves, loves his Mommy and I love him so much too!!!
I can't believe he is 5 months!!

My Jumpin Bean

As soon as Jacoby turned 5 months old we put him in the jumper for the first time!! He loved it!! He wasn't sure what to think of it at first and kept looking at Jarod and I wondering what we were doing to him but as soon as he figured it out he was a fan! I thought this would be a great way to entertain him so I could get some things done around here but he prefers when we sit and play with him while he is jumping of course!! Maybe someday I will have a clean house again. My Grandma called me the other day and asked what I was doing and I told her that I was playing with Jacoby and she said that's what you are always doing. Yep!! What can I say my little guy loves attention and especially when it is coming from his Mommy!

The Wrigley Run

Brock Steere, Jacoby and Daddy
I am so far behind on posting!!!
Jarod ran in the annual Wrigley Race about a month ago. I usually run in it as well but this was just a few days after my surgery so Jacoby and I watched and cheered Daddy on. These are some of the people that work with Jarod in the Central Division for Wrigley. We always have a lot of fun at the race and then all of the Wrigley employees and their families are there for breakfast. We had a great time this year and it was fun to introduce Jacoby to so many people that Jarod works with. Jarod was one proud Daddy!!

For Aunt Ash!!!

One of our good friends is a die hard BSU fan, so he gave us a ton of BSU gear when Jacoby was born. We like to sport it around Chicago and root on our Aunt Ash who goes to BSU along with Derek and Vera! I think he is the cutest BSU fan!!

Thanks Grandma GG!!

My Grandma knitted these cute matching hats for the boys so I had to post a picture of them in their matching beanies! Thanks Grandma GG!!! They both look so cute!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

A very good friend of mine sent this to me and I loved it so I thought I would share it!! Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mom's out there. Especially to my wonderful Mom!! You are the best and I love you so much!!! Thank you for everything that you do for me and for being such a wonderful mother, teacher, Mamma and friend. I am very blessed to have you as my mom!! I love you!

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom ..
