Baseball

Our favorite past time these days after dinner is to head outside to play some ball.  Jacoby loves it and so does Jace!
Jace and I usually play catcher on the blanket
and we watch Daddy and Jacoby run the bases and hit.
Sometimes we switch it up and rotate but Jacoby doesn't like to be the catcher.  He would rather be in the middle of the action.
He is getting really good and it is so much fun playing until the street light comes on and we go in for bed.

Protection

Before church Jace looked so cute in his little outfit that I decided that I wanted to snap a few pictures.  He was not in the mood for pictures but I did capture this precious moment with my boys.  Jacoby was in the shower with his Dad and came running in the room with just his underwear on and wanted to be in the pictures.  He was jumping on the bed and being wild like usual and then suddenly he stopped, plopped down next to Jace, put his hand on his head and told him, "Don't worry Jace, I will always protect you" and then was back to his jumping.  Jacoby takes his role as big brother very seriously and he is Jace's protector.  There is no doubt in my mind that he always will.

Bubbles

The boys love to play this game with Jarod and I love watching them.  Jace is really fast though so you better watch out.  He will have the gum out of your mouth and in to his in a flash.  Jacoby was so cute trying to blow his own bubbles.  I love watching all of them play together.  Jarod is such a wonderful Daddy and his boys adore him and think he is so funny!

Sunday Pancakes

We have many weekly traditions at our house but one of them is Sunday pancakes.  Sunday morning, Jarod and Jacoby make pancakes and they are usually banana and chocolate chips.  Jarod always makes a cute design for Jacoby and Jacoby gets to choose the color.  This Sunday was special because Jace got to have Sunday pancakes for the first time and he loved them!!!  Forget baby food this baby doesn't like it.  He wants to feed himself yummy food like pancakes.

Sick Baby

My poor baby boy was not feeling well the other night.  He woke up and threw up a few times.  First all over the bed and himself and then all over me.  We were both covered so we went up in the middle of the night and took a shower.  It was a moment that I will never forget with my son.  Even though he wasn't feeling well he was still all smiles and he cuddled like this in the shower for about 30 minutes just letting the water fall off of us.  The house was all quiet and it was just the two of us.  I savor these moments.  Jarod came to check on us and I asked him to get the camera.  I wanted to remember this.

The Pram

When Lacy was here we participated in a consignment sale and while we were there setting up I spotted this Pram.  Long story short, I didn't get it at the sale but eventually I did because I could not stop thinking about it.  Jace wasn't the happiest model this day but I wanted to get a few pictures in before all the leaves changed colors and I am so glad I did. Isn't it awesome!!

Stephen Fife

The other night we got to do the coolest thing ever!  One of the families that Jarod grew up with have a son named Stephen who Jarod has known since he was a baby and Stephen is not so little any more.  Actually, he started as the Dodgers starting pitcher against the Reds and we went to the game to watch him.  It was so cool!
We knew that he had been called up a few weeks ago because Jarod has been following him and we listened to his first start as a major league baseball player.  We made the comment then that we hoped he would still be up in the majors for their next trip to Cincinnati and sure enough he was.
All day long, Jarod and him were texting back and forth and Jarod kept saying, "I just got a text from the Dodger's starting pitcher, how cool is that!".  Jarod's dream has always been to be a major league baseball player and this was as close as we have ever been.
We went to the game in our Dodger blue and watched him pitch behind home plate.  It was so cool!  Stephen did great but the Reds one and happened to clinch their division that night so it was a really cool atmosphere to be in.  Minus the fireworks, Jace is not a fan at all.  It didn't help that I he was trying to fall asleep and was nursing when they went off.  He freaked out and then would latch back on and then another one would go off and he would cry again.  Poor baby!  We were right next to them and I had even moved so we wouldn't be but they decided to shoot them off another barge.
After the game, we went and met up with the Dodger's starting pitcher at his hotel.  We visited for a long time.  It was so cool to hear how it is in the club house and what it is like pitching in the majors.  But the best part was Stephen was still the nicest kid from Boise and Jarod and him joked that they were just two Borah quarterbacks hanging out.

Clouds

For preschool this week our letter is c.  We read the cloud book by Eric Carle and made a crab out of a c but we also made our own clouds with shaving cream outside.
Jace was not sure what to think.  At first he was interested and then when he couldn't get it off his hands he started whining and throwing his hands around.
Jacoby on the other hand thought it was great!  We ended up chasing each other around the yard with the shaving cream and not making very many clouds but we had a blast!
Then we ran straight upstairs into the shower, which was Jace's favorite part!  I love having preschool at home.  We are having so much fun!

Lacy and Blake Visit

We were so excited to have Blake and Aunt Ace come for a visit!  Daddy went to Tucson for work and the girls stayed and played with all the baby boys!
It was so much fun to have so much time with Blake.  We all loved having him here.  Jacoby must have told me a dozen times after they left that he wanted them to come back and this time he wanted them to bring uncle soldier Brian.
We had fun going to the aquarium, shopping, shopping and did I mention shopping!  We also did a lot of hanging out and watching the boys play.
It was so much fun to have my sister here and I had a blast catching up with her, watching girls shows and movies and of course getting some ice cream.
It really made me want to move back to Boise to have my sisters to hang out with every day.
By the end of the week we were both exhausted.  Since both of us had our own baby we weren't much help to the other, so when Jarod got in to town we didn't even wait for him to put his back down and we were out the door just the two of us!  It was pretty funny!
We tried numerous times to get pictures of Blake smiling but the little stinker refused until the morning that they left.  They were worth the wait to get these cute pics of him smiling at his Mama.  He is a mama's boy and it makes me so proud to see what a wonderful Mama he has.  Blake is a very lucky boy to have my beautiful sister as his Mama.  She is one of the most incredible people I know and I love her so much.  I love to see her as a mom and caught myself getting emotional a few times while watching her.  You see, she was my first miracle and now she has one of her own.
Thanks Lace for making the trip out here with Blake!  It was so much fun having you and Blake.  We love you both!

8 Months

My sweet, sweet baby boy!  How can you be 8 months old!  You are our ray of sunshine and have so much personality sometimes I wonder how it can fit in your little body.
We love you so much!
You could not be any more perfect and every day with you is filled with love.  You love so much bigger then your little body and give the best cuddles!
You are just such a joy my baby boy!!
Some fun things about you at 8 months.
1.  You love to nurse and still do all the time
2.  You love your brother and are constantly looking for him but then if he gets too close you tell him about it
3.  You cut your first tooth a few days before 8 months
4.  You are not that interested in food at all.  You will eat about 4-5 bites and you are done
5.  You love bath time and get so excited to get in
6.  If you could spend all day outside, you would
7.  You love your Daddy and get all excited when he gets home
8.  You can get up on all fours but you have not figured out how to move yet.
9.  Most of the time you are a great sleeper and if you are not I know something is up.  Last week it was teething.  If you do wake up all you want is to nurse.  If I try to put your inky in your mouth you will seriously spit it across the bed.
10.  You love to sleep with me and cuddle all night long.  If you can't touch me you will scoot closer until you are.
11.  You are a love bug and love cuddling and getting lots of attention.
12.  You still never want to get down and if you are on the floor you want someone right next to you playing with you
13.  You love Sophie the giraffe, the Little People toys and especially balls.

We love you Jacers!!!

Sandbox

Jacoby and Jace's favorite place lately is in the sandbox.  They spend hours in there playing together and love it and I love watching them!  It is the best babysitter ever and I love watching them play together!  It melts my heart- love them so much!
