California

We left Cincinnati and all drove to Dayton.  Where we were delayed four hours.  Lucky for us Jarod was with us for that but then we got to Chicago and he got off there and we continues all the way to LA.
The boys did amazing even though it took  us about 13 hours to get there and either of them slept from Chicago to LA.  Then we went and got a rental car and started on our hour long drive.  Jace had a little bit of a meltdown but then fell asleep.  Jacoby on the other hand had to pee and we were stuck in traffic.  He couldn't hold it any longer and peed his pants.  When I was finally able to pull over I did and he peed more in a bottle, then I stripped him down and put him back in his car seat.  We arrived at Hank and Dee's with one naked and the other screaming.  Exactly how I felt!!
We were able to pull it together though and went and had a fabulous day at the beach the next day.  It was beautiful!  I didn't think that it would be that warm so I didn't plan on getting in but Jace made a bee line for the water.  He would not settle for anything less then getting in.  We started with getting our toes wet and then ended up swimming in our clothes.  It was a blast and Jacoby thought it was hilarious!!
Jace loved playing in the waves but he did not like me holding his hand at all.  He kept trying to escape and Jacoby kept telling him that the ocean was too strong for him.  He didn't care.  After a long time of playing in the water, we dried off and played soccer and built sand castles.
It was seriously one of the best days ever!!  I didn't get very many pictures because I was busy chasing two boys by myself but this is a day I will never forget.

Valentine's Day 2013

We had a great Valentine's this year!  While Jace was sleeping and Jacoby was watching shows.  I went upstairs and strung string all over the upstairs with messages for all of them.
Jacoby thought he was spiderman in his web and had a blast.
Then they had to watercolor over their hearts to find their secret messages.  Right up Jacoby's alley.  He is all about clues and mysteries these days.
We had heart shaped pizza and Jacoby and I had baked cookies earlier for preschool so we got to decorate them for dessert.  They were so yummy!  Since we have been vegan everything taste so much better when you finally do have it.  Jacoby licked the entire bowl!
Jace loved it too!  He really enjoyed sticking his fingers in the frosting and then having me lick them off.   I love having these family traditions with my own family.
Jacoby painted Valentine's for every one this year and this is what he said on his Dad's.
Daddy,
Happy Valentine's Day Daddy!  At gymnastics I said that my teacher that I love Jace the most.  I love mom's hair and I love Jace's hair.  I love you Dad!
Love,
Jacoby

Love, Jacoby

Mama,
I love you.  You are the best mommy ever.
Love, Jace

Cutting Hair

Well it finally happened, Jacoby cut his own hair.  I think every kids does that at some point and he was four when he took a chance with some scissors.  I felt horrible for him.  Jace was asleep and I was upstairs taking care of some paper work.  When he came dashing up the stairs to show me.
He told me he had a surprise for me and was so excited to show me.  I didn't know how to respond.  I could tell that he was going to be devastated that I was not excited about it but I also could not let him think that he could cut his hair any time he wanted.  So I told him there was a reason that we had someone else cut our hair because we couldn't see the back and then I took him to the bathroom to show him and he started sobbing.  He was so upset.
I told him that we may need to buzz it all off and he was so upset.  It was pretty traumatic for him so I hoping it doesn't happen again.
We went and got his hair all cut off but we didn't have to buzz it.  He looks adorable and we have all moved on, poor boy!
