Jacoby's Third Birthday!

We had so much fun celebrating Jacoby's Birthday in Idaho this year with his favorite people! Not only were his cousins there but Ty was in Boise for Thanksgiving and got to come too. It was perfect!
Ash made this really cute poster and Jacoby and I found the other fire engine stuff for his birthday. He even picked out his own shirt. We had been trying to decide what kind of birthday to have either fire engine or tractors, two of his favorite things, and when he saw this shirt he told me he wanted a fire engine birthday. SOLD!
To make it even better my mom set up a tour of the local fire station for the kids and they even wore their hats!

The kids loved every minute of it. They were taking it all in like crazy!
He even had to wear his church boots that day because firemen where boots.
They got to try on all the gear
and practice driving the big engine.
Even Miss Emma loved it!

Boden really liked this heat sensor and he was happy playing with that for quite a while
We were trying to get a good shot of Jacobes from the front of the engine so the firefighter hoisted him up, as you can see he thought he was pretty cool!
But I think the highlight for Jacoby was actually getting to drive the fire engine. He got to sit on the lap of the captain while he pulled it out. He wasn't so sure about it at first. He kept looking at me wondering if he was ok but pretty soon he got caught up in it and loved it.
The fireman put the coat and hat and Jacoby because it was his birthday and I seriously cannot stop laughing every time I look at this picture. The poor boy! The hat ways more than he does soaking wet!
As you can see, he was terrified to move. He kept the same expression the entire time and would only move his eyes. Pretty soon, the hat slipped to the side and took Jacoby with it. It was so funny! He landed face down in the hat and his legs were still straight. Then he just said, Mama. It was priceless. We took them off of him and gave them to Michael.
He was still holding onto the hat though!
Then we put it on Boden. Love this pic!
He was so happy and loved every minute of it!
He didn't want to leave and him and his Dad watched as they pulled away. For some reason the pic didn't post but this was fire station number 3 in Boise- how fitting is that!

After the fire station, we headed back to my mom's house for pizza and white cupcakes with fire engines that Aunt Ash made and Jacoby requested.
He was so excited to have Ty there and we were so glad they were able to make it.
Then we opened presents and boy did we have a lot of help.
Jacoby was so sweet and went around and hugged everyone and thanked them for their presents. Here he is with Grandma GG.

Love this pic of him and Mama! And with Paka! We had the best time and I was so glad to be able to celebrate it with all of my family. Jacoby loves being at Mama and Paka's house and he is in heaven any time he is with his cousins. He loves them so much and it is so much fun to watch him play with them. He gets so excited and they do so well together. They are truly his favorite people behind his Mama and Daddy of course!

BSU vs. Wyoming

Jarod took Jacoby with Paka, Uncle Brian, Uncle Ty, Michael and Boden to the Boise State vs. Wyoming game while we were in Boise. I stayed behind to decorate for Jacoby's Birthday. They had a great time! Jacoby loved yelling first down and he loved watching the band play. Jarod had a great time taking him back to where he used to play all his high school games.

Thanksgiving 2011

It was so nice to be home for Thanksgiving this year with the family. Derek and Vera were in Denver but the rest of us were there.
My mom made this adorable hat for our little Emma. She is so stinkin cute.
Then the boys made their pilgrim hats as well a few days before.
Jacoby had a lot of fun with the stickers!
Boden was much more interested in playing with my belly. He kept talking to the baby and trying to get it to wake up. He was certain that he could hear the baby talking and would tell me what the baby was saying. Then he wanted to see how big the baby was so he got a measuring tape out. It was so funny! He played with it for about 30 minutes until another little boy came in the room and wanted Boden to play with Lacy's belly not his.
My sweet baby boy!
A quick family shot before dinner of me, my boys and my little one.
Over Thanksgiving we discovered that Jacoby loves to play games. He loves memory and is really good at it as well was Go Fish. It was so fun playing games with him.
The people I am the most grateful in my life!! I have such an amazing family and I am so thankful for each and every one of them and how they enrich my life. I love you all!

Lacy's Gender Reveal

While we were in Boise for Thanksgiving Lacy had her big ultrasound. Brian, Lacy and my mom went and then the ultrasound tech gave my mom the sealed envelope with the gender of their baby in it. I was so surprised that Lace and Brian didn't cheat but they didn't! Later that night, we threw them a gender reveal party. My mom kept the secret and went and got colored balloons and put them in a big box.
Once everyone got there it was time for the big reveal and boy were we all surprised that it's a boy!!!
Seriously I am not sure why but we all thought she was having a girl!
My mom did a great job keeping the secret and then she was finally able to tell the story of the ultrasound and inform us that is was definitely a boy.
All of us who were wrong with our guess- minus the boys in the front the all guessed a boy!
That means that we will soon have 4 wild boys in our family and one little girl- poor Emma! But before Lacy's baby gets here we will see what this little one in my belly is. Grandchild #5 is still a surprise!

First Day of Swimming Without Mama

Yesterday was a big day for my little boy. It was his first swim lesson by himself. Last week we stayed and watched the older class so he would understand that I didn't get it. He told me he wanted to do it so yesterday we gave it a try. Can I tell you that this little boy never seems to amaze me! First of all, he told me yesterday that he didn't need me in swim any more. He was a big boy and could do it all by himself but he followed that quickly with but I need your hair, I need you to cuddle with me and kiss me, I need you to sleep with me and the list kept going. It was pretty cute. I think he was trying to soften the blow. He told me not to be sad and Daddy would make me happy. Then Jarod came in and he said I don't want Mama to be sad because I am going to school all by myself so can you make her better. So funny!
Anyway, I was really nervous. It was our first real experience of him doing anything on his own. We got there early to watch the kids and talked about it. When it was time for class, he grabbed my hand and said come on Mama you can come and watch me. So I went and sat next to the pool and watched him do amazing! He did such a good job listening and did amazing swimming. He doesn't love back floats with the teacher but he did them. It was pretty funny though because freeze in gymnastics means you put your arms in front of you so the teacher kept telling him to freeze on his back and he would put his arms straight out in front of him. Too funny. He kept looking over at me through his goggles and waving. He wanted to make sure I saw everything but he did amazing. I am so proud of him. My little boy is growing up!

Swimming!

I don't have any pictures yet but Jacoby is swimming!!! Yes, all by himself with his face in the water, kicking his legs and doing big arms. I really cannot believe it! He loves swim class but the other day his teacher gave him goggles and he was off I mean literally off. The only time he takes his face out of the water is when he is taking a breath. I thought the first week might have been a fluke so I waited until this week to see what happened. He did even better. He was so excited to go swimming and even more excited to use his goggles. He is amazing! He was diving down on the 4 foot deep pool getting rings and bringing them back to the top. I could not believe it! I was so proud of him and he was so proud of himself! He couldn't wait to call his Daddy and tell him that he swims like a fish. He is growing up so fast right now. I called Jarod and said that I think I just got done with my last mommy and me class with him because they want to move him up to the big kids class. I had mixed emotions. He is ready but I am not sure I am ready. Jarod said well pretty soon you will have another one that will need you for a mommy and me class. I told him it was a good thing because I don't know if I am ready for my baby to be so big. I also told him that I will just have to keep having them so I don't have to deal with the reality that my babies are growing up. :)
