A few days ago, Jarod and I decided that we were just going to be lazy and go grab something to eat, so we walked out our front door and jumped in his car which just happened to be parked right out front (everything is street parking in Chicago so sometimes you have to park a few blocks away). As I was fastening my seat belt I noticed that two people were standing in front of the house next door that is for sale. Being curious on who my new neighbors may be I continued to stare at them as we drove past. It took me a second but then I realized that I knew that guy. It was Nate Berkus! Ya know of 'Oprah's Biggest Give', Oprah's designer, etc. I couldn't believe it! I was all excited! I am used to seeing celebrities after living in California for so many years and that I used to cover celebrity events for my past job, but he was standing in front of my house!! Now that does not happen very often.
Jarod was not that impressed. He had no idea who he was so he was killing my moment. I wanted my moment so I called my mom to share the exciting news. She appreciated it much more than Jarod.
I think he was looking at the house next door. Who knows maybe Nate will be my new neighbor? Maybe we will be come fast friends and he will volunteer out of the goodness of his heart to redecorate my house and introduce me to Oprah! You never know it could happen.

What a difference a day makes!
Our first two games of the real season at Wrigley Field could not have been any more different. The first day was 37 degrees, windy and they lost. I sat like this the entire game and actually got irritated when they would do something well because I would have to get readjusted every time I sat back down.
The next day was 62 and beautiful! We both brought our winter coats and didn't even wear them. Cubs walked away with a huge win and the game was much more enjoyable without all of my layers!

Walk the Talk
I have been so bad about posting anything these days but seriously how many pictures of Jarod and me can one take! So I will bring you up to speed without pictures this time.
I have taken on a HUGE project that has been utilizing much of my time. I am hoping to have the web site up and running soon.
Have you ever felt like all of your experiences have lead you to an exact moment in your life? I have been in the health insurance industry for 5 years and 3 of them have been in the wellness realm. I am extremely passionate about eating healthy, working out and the entire holistic approach. Not necessarily the norm in my industry. I am definitely the odd man out but I thrive on that and each day I try to challenge others in my industry and my clients to think differently and change their own behaviors. It is very frustrating for me to see health insurance costs and childhood obesity rise every year and our answer is just to medicate. I don't think we are getting at the root of the problem.
Every week I sit through meeting after meeting listening to how the insurance companies are starting to promote wellness. I am sure some of you have seen the commercials. Yet, internally we do nothing so a very good friend of mine in the industry and I decided enough was enough and we are challenging them to 'Walk the Talk'.
We have created a five week wellness challenge for the 5 biggest insurance carriers the 5 biggest brokers/consultants in the downtown area that will be taking place this summer. The buy in and support that we have received has been incredible!
I feel that all the experiences throughout my career has lead me here and I am so excited!
