Dow City and Omaha

In October we flew to Omaha for Jarod's cousin Katie's wedding. Before the festivities started we flew in and drove straight to Iowa to see Jarod's Grandma. It was so good to see her and show Jacoby Dow City, population like 100!

Then we drove back to Omaha to get there just in time for the rehearsal dinner. I didn't take any pictures of that but we had a good time. Katie and her husband Wes live in San Diego. I have to tell you we were a little disappointed they didn't have the wedding in SD but we had a great time in Omaha.
They had the wedding at the Creighton chapel. It was beautiful!

Her dress was amazing!! So simple and elegant.

I didn't see much of the ceremony because I was hiding in the back of the church feeding Jacoby.

The girls looked so cute! This is only three of them but a great pic of Cleo, Ava and Mia.

The wedding was in the morning and we had a big break until the reception that night so we went back to Dave and Betty's for some tailgating chili. They put Chili in a Frito bag- not even joking. I had never seen that before. I would love to tell you how it was but I am not a big Frito fan but the chili was good. We took Jacoby to the park and he even got a great nap in before we headed to the reception in downtown Omaha at a really cool old warehouse.
I love this picture of Jacoby!! He was busy playing with the kids in the window.

He was on the move all night long- whether walking with Daddy

playing with Cleo and the other kids

or dancing on the dance floor- his favorite!!!

He was hysterical on the dance floor! He didn't even have time to pose for a picture. I wish I would have gotten more pics of him out there dancing. He was doing the worm and was getting his groove on by rocking back and forth and clear up on his toes. He would crawl around in a circle then sit down and clap along. He was so funny! He had some moves and I know he didn't get them from his Daddy :)

Our very tired boy after dancing on the dance floor for 2 hours! We could not get him off!

The next morning he woke up and was excited to play with Trey! We stayed with Kara and Kyle and the boys had so much fun playing with each other.
We had a great time in Omaha and the wedding was beautiful!

Brayden and Jacoby

It is always so much fun to get these two little boys together and I am sure that they are going to love these bath pictures some day!! Jacoby ready to get in even though you can tell he feels like crap! His poor eyes!
They were so cute in the bath tub together

They splashed around for a little while

and then their dads attacked them with wash clothes while the mommies took pictures!

Jacoby didn't last very long though and he was ready to get out. He always has to look at his clean self when he gets out of the tub.

Brayden and Diego just chillin

until Jacoby showed up!

Brayden was very interested in Jacoby and watched him the entire time. Jacoby was busy exploring the house at the river.

Jacobes has a few inches on Brayden I would say but look how sweet Brayden is giving him hugs.

We finally got Jacoby to hold still for a picture of the two of them together! They are too cute and it is so fun to have them so close in age! I am sure next time we are together they will be chasing each other.

Jarodica- Happy 30th Jarod!

After a very long trip out there and an even longer night with Jacoby the first night we were there. Poor baby was up all night along with us! We were so excited to get the festivities started!
Some of this is a long running joke with our friends but every day we made Jarod dress up in honor of his Birthday and lets be honest Jarod loves to dress up!

The first day Jarod was David Hasselhoff- yes, the hoff- but some how he got his shorts on backwards after he saved a drowning Wade in the river.

It was beautiful! 93 and pleasant and we were all lovin the sun! Jar, Jesse and Nicole

It was fun to have the boys back together again and the mommies too!

Jacoby LOVED the boat!!

Big kisses from my little boy

When we stopped to float Jacoby could not wait to get in. He loves the water and thought it was so fun to splash it. He wanted to get all the way in but he couldn't convince us to get in to hold him.

Jacoby was very sick and was not eating any solids. He was nursing like a maniac and I was so thankful I was still nursing him because it was the only thing that he wanted. So what do you do with a sick baby who doesn't want to swallow or chew (I think because of a sore throat and teething)... let him drink his yogurt!

It was absolutely everywhere and I didn't even care! I was just so happy to get some more food in him.

He loved it and ended up having 2! We had to both shower after our yogurt bath though.

A birthday celebration would not be complete without a girls trip to the big town of Blythe for a birthday cake!

Jesse made Jarod the coolest video ever for his birthday! We were all crying we were laughing so hard!

Rob gearing up Jarod for his second day of dress up.

Our little birthday princess (with his Maniac shirt on- ha! ha!)

The outfit was complete with a boa and some wings!

Then it was back outside to enjoy the sun and my sweet baby boy! We were busy watching the boys play some game they came up with after steeling the toys and balls away from the kids. It is so entertaining it never fails, ever time we go to the river the come up with some competitive game to play against each other and play it for hours on end!

They finally took a water break and Jacoby could not wait to get in!

Some of the crew hanging out on Big Blue

While we were there we had to do some wake skating of course! Jarod really enjoys it and had a great time trying it for the first time.

I have done it before but I was not so sure I was going to be able to get back up. It had been a few years but I popped right up- didn't stay up too long the first time- but got the feeling back pretty quickly and had a lot of fun even though you can't tell from my face. Look at that concentration!

Jarod was a NASCAR fan the last day we were there. He even had the beautiful teeth!

Jarod and Jacoby enjoying a few more moments in the sun.

Jacoby was feeling a little better by this point but still was not his happy little self. It took him almost a week to recover.

We had such a great time even with a sick baby! It was so good to see everyone and I know that it meant a lot to Jarod that everyone came out to help him celebrate his 30th Birthday! A special thank you to Rob and Elish for EVERYTHING!!! You guys are the best and we love you!

Happy 30th Birthday Jar! I hope you had a great one!!!
For the record when we got home Jarod got really sick and the poor guy couldn't even eat his Birthday dinner or dessert. He finally went to the doctor and would you believe that he had Scarlet Fever!! I thought that disease disappeared in the 1800's but nope some how Jarod got it! He was really sick and had this horrible rash. What a way to celebrate your Birthday!!

California or Bust!

For weeks Jacoby and I had a little secret!! Jarod turned 30 on October 14 and for his Birthday we had planned a surprise trip to California for him. I couldn't wait to tell him so a few days before when Jarod got home from work we had a letter waiting for him on the table from Jacoby. It told him that since Jacoby can't talk but he wanted to be the one to tell Daddy where we were going for his 30th Birthday party they were going to play a game. Jacoby has this little pop up toy and he can do all them so I put little clues behind each one and when Jacoby popped them up Jarod got to see them. They were all clues about California like a bear, palm tree, etc. and the last one was a picture of a onesie.
Jarod could not figure it out so after forever I finally said, "how many layers does Jacoby have on today?". He looked and saw that he had a onesie on and a light went on so he took Jacoby's clothes off to find this cute onesie that had a map of the United States on it with a star over California and on the butt it said "California or Bust!". (Thanks Ash!!!)

Daddy and Jacoby were so excited!!!

We got on the plane a few days later. Unfortunately Jacoby came down with a 102 temp the night before in the middle of the night around 4 and we had to leave our house at 6 to catch our flight. We didn't know what to do but we finally decided to just go. We had Jacoby still in his PJ's and once we got to 10,000 feet Daddy got up to go the bathroom and when he came back I had changed Jacoby's clothes into this T-shirt!
Jarod was so embarrassed and it was so worth it! Everyone commented on it through out our long day of traveling!
I felt so bad for Jacoby he was so sick and this was the beginning of the longest day of his life! He was such a trooper on the 5 1/2 hour flight to San Jose because of the 175 head winds we had- so fun! And then again on our leg from San Jose to Ontario. Once we got to Ontario our poor baby had to get in his car seat for a 3 hour drive. Let's just say we were all relieved when we finally made it to the Blythe, California where we had lots of our friends waiting for us and 90 degree weather!!
